?I was rather surprised what I found when I finally managed to pick the lock to the old illusionist's tower. Figuring that I could snatch up his scrolls and books in an effort to gain what few powerful spells that I was seeking, I was initially disappointed when I poured through the vast collection of spell books that the once mighty glamer thrower had taken from his defeated opponents. Most of these were little more than a collection of cantrips and low research results, magical arts that I had collected and nearly forgotten ages ago. I was quite amazed, however, when I happened to pry open and decipher a rather old, dusty tome sitting at the very end of the shelf. While I still found little in the tastes of powerful magic, I instead found a very well written collection of magical spells that I have yet to ever lay eyes upon. Though I?ve heard hushed remarks about a few of the new spells in the arcanic marketplaces, many of the magical instructions that the dusty, tattered tome provided me were completely new to my greedy knowledge altogether. Perhaps these spells are of the magical arts that my colleagues claim to be lost in obscurity.? - Randwilfe The Greedy, Expert Rogue-Mage

Is your party's wizard impossible to satisfy when it comes to gathering more and more spells? Does he/she dream of having an entire library full of nothing but one spell book after another? Does this wizard want entirely different spells in each book? Impossible you ask? Probably so we say. But with this new series of spell selections, your party's wizard might just be able to get a bit closer to their goals of arcane greed. This volume of The Spell Glutton's Sampler presents over a dozen spells that the greedy wizard in your party can grab up and add to the pages of their spell book(s). Many spells are also compatible with a few of the other spell caster classes, particularly bards and clerics, so some of the rest of the party can benefit from the offerings of this sampler as well.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
