Solid collection for Players of Rpgs and Tabletops.
Helps save a lot of money if the game is your first interest and not the miniature.

I'm a big fan of miniatures. I love Reaper and the more esoteric brands like Avatars of War along with those in the middle tier like Heresy and Dragonblood. However, there comes a time when you're looking for something very specific for the adventure you're running and can't find it. This could be either becaue it's an 'official' monster that has no generic likeness such as a Norker, or a NEW official monster that is too new.
In addition, there are times when you don't want to be weighed down with a ton of miniatures. Dungeons and Dragons 4th edition does many things, but making it easier to carry around a small number of figures is NOT among them.
So after after on some boards (RPG.net and En World) and discovering that things like the Norkers haven't been made and the carnage demons is another one of those figures that Wizards of the Coast made that is a squatter (look at the various figures and you'll see many of them in some painful squatting situation), I decided hell with i ... Excellent! I was delighted to find this recently as I had just finished writing to Fiery Dragon asking them if there were any plans to make a counter version of the Monster Manual 2 so this is a dream come true. I am such a big fan of the counter set for heroic, paragon and epic that I have been refusing to use any monsters from MM2 and thought that was a shame. With this product, I'm happy to do so again. I eagerly await the release of Paragon 2 and Epic 2.

A great one-box set RPG that still holds true to it's old-school classic roots. This set includes the main rules, two supplemental monster books, a spell expansion, GM's adventure and solo adventure as well as counters and character sheets....probably some other stuff I have forgotten, too. I have both the print and PDF editions, and the print edition is so thick you can't close the box. Just sayin', it's a lot of bang for the buck.
LIKES: T&T in all its glory; the 7.5 edition adds a bunch of additional content to the main rules and four supplemental rule books not seen in the 7.0 edition. A few rule fixes are included (such as the change on experience gain and cost to advancement) as well. The art is great, using Claudio Poyas (sp?) material to good effect; he has a clean, distinct style that is reminiscent of the old days of T&T when Liz Danforth was the chief illustrator.

I use these counters exclusively for my games. To make them "pop" off the battle mat, I reccomend cutting some foamcore into squares and glueing the counters onto the foamcore.
The artwork is very generic, which is great for re-use.

Iron Hereos brings a new look at some monsters and how they can challenge your players in their Iron Heroes campaign. I cant say enought about this bestary other that, There Be Monsters in there! Great addition any campaign.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite edition of T&T to run. The rulebook is far better than the 7.0 rulebook. Ken St. Andre, the Trollgod, has revised 7.0 into a much more useful (and 30% longer) rulebook. FDP has added lots of goodies. And the game is, for me, nearly perfect. It's rules light, stat heavy, and suitable for Sword and Sorcery, high fantasy, and more general fantasy. Only thing missing is priests, and that's almost now a running gag with Ken; there is no clerical magic, per se, in any edition! The standard races (Dwarf, Elf, Fairy, Human, Hobb, Leprechaun) and 32 more; 11 types (Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, Citizen, Paragon, Specialist Wizzard - Conjurer, Specialist Wizard - Combat, Specialist Wizard - Cosmic, Specialist Wizard - Metabolic, Ranger, Leader), and a talent system more flexible than ever. It's still the best house-rule-friendly system out there. And the edition here prints nicely on 4-up in acrobat, too... Not that it is flawless... it suffers mostly from Troll-s ... Okay, I just bought me a copy of this because I was curious.
IT IS AWESOME!
I thought the 4E MM was fairly well done - this beats it hands down. A great variety of monsters, familiar to the holders of the old CC books, but full of wonderful, unexpected surprises for those who haven't run across these book's creatures before.
One thing that wasn't pointed out that I'd like to note is this has not only creatures from Creature Collection I, but Creature Collection II (didn't check to see if there were any from III, but I suspect so.)
I also really like the sample NPC class monsters in the back - a very nice touch. I'm talking an example 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th level example of each class written up as a monster in the back, with race templates to go with it to customize each. The MM could have really used a section like that!
My only disappointment: none of the Carnival of Shadow creatures made it into the book. That's a very small disappointment though, it was ... [TEXT_READ_FULL_REVIEW]

A very good product, that would please any fan of the Scarred Lands and of 4E.
LIKED:
* the monsters are really well-written (and balanced), and catch the feeling of both 4E and Scarred Lands (I love Athentia, a level 33 solo which is really, really dangerous)
* Scarred Land fluff almost everywhere. It has not changed a bit since D&D 3.X
* beautiful illustration (old and new)
DISLIKED:
* some new illustrations are not that great

Having now had a chance to look at this product, I would like to say that it does offer a large number of the wonderful creatures that made the Scarred Lands such a wonderful place to adventure. I really feel that Fiery Dragon has done a great job with the monsters and offered a wonderful selection to choose from. A must have for anyone wanting quality monsters to add to their game!!!

This product is indispensable for anyone interested in running a Scarred Lands campaign. The book contains all the best creatures from the old Creature Compendium books that Sword and Sorcery put out in slick 4th Edition formats. At least some of the art will be familiar to fans of the older 3rd edition material, though it appears new art is also included.
I would also say that the book's creatures are also very useful for DMs wanting to add a bit of variety to the standard fare brought to us by the 4th Ed Monstrous Manual.
Much of the fluff material that goes with the creatures are inspired by or directly taken from the original Creature Collection entries, but done in a 4th Edition style. In other words, they present information according to what a character might know based on a skill roll, just as has been done in the Wizards Manual. The format they've chosen seems to pack a LOT more creatures in the same space. A lot of that is helped, I'm sure, by the new stat block format ... [TEXT_READ_FULL_REVIEW]

Fiery Dragon played a big part in helping me develop my current Dungeon Mastering Style. Before them, I struggled with visuals. I hated writing long prose for description because rarely do players pay attention to the box text.
Player: What did the elf look like again?
Me: You mean the Dwarf?
Then came Fiery Dragon. They produced sets of perforated tokens that could be otrn out and placed on a game table. This was great at first, but it soon became a hassle to prepare game as you only had one or two copies of something and you had to find it. Then came their digital products which provided the same quality tokens in a digital format, allowing me to run a completely digital game.
Fiery Dragon now releases Counter Collection Digital 3.0, their best collection of artwork yet in a consistent effort to help dungeon masters digital and non-digital.

Counter Collection Digital v3.0 is the latest digital product that collects all of Fiery Dragon and Claudio Pozas' 2D counter art up to December 2008. This 470 MB download contains more than 3000 unique counters of all sizes to be used for a variety of RPG genres, including fantasy, modern, superhero, and others. This product contains a large collection of JPEG images only, although separate fillable (though not saveable) pdf downloads are provided to assist in assembling all the counters you need for easy printing.
Claudio Pozas is probably one of the more known RPG artists currently active in the industry, and this product is a true showcase of his dedication and talent in the RPG industry. This product features years of 2D counter art that has come forth from his artistic talent, starting from the early days of the OGL edition. LIKED: The art is really excellent and consistent throughout. You get a TON of 3.5 counters plus all of the counters FD has so far produced for 4E including PCs for every race and class and gender. Each image is its own file so you can print exactly what you need for any encounter without wasting ink/paper.
DISLIKED: Counters are broken down in sub folders but sometimes difficult to locate exact counter you need. An index of some kind would be very useful.
QUALITY: EXCELLENT
VALUE : EXCELLENT - I originally purchased Counter Collection Digital v2.0 GOLD. Shortly after this product was released I received an email from Fiery Dragon offering to upgrade to v3.0 for $10.
