The Golden Age - The Dirty Dozen
by Maxwell [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 12/01/2023 13:55:04

A great resource not only for the FCH RPG, but for fans of or those curious about Golden Age characters/comics. The author lists the first appearances of every character included in the work, and pretty much all of those comics are in the Public Domanin and available to read for free legally on sites like comicbookplus.com. However, the game-related content is really well done, too, providing solid examples of hoe to design in this wide-open system, with a couple of adventures to boot.

Halloween Horrors (Supers!)
by Joseph B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/25/2014 06:28:33

At first I was expecting a typical Halloween arsenal of villains (vampire, werewolf, ghost, etc) but was pleasantly suprised to find six unique and creepy horrors. Well written, creepy artwork, and interesting villains. The Gingerdead Man alone is worth the price of admission!

Halloween Horrors (Supers!)
by Sean H. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 10/22/2014 13:42:17

Halloween Horrors provides six supernatural foes suitable for modern superhero games, though they could easily be adjusted to find modern horror games as well. A good source of inspiration for horror-based adventures, nothing too deep here but the horrors are easy to use and should spark an adventure when you need one.

Halloween Horrors is a selection of six horror enemies for the Supers! RPG. Each monster entry is framed by an entry from the journal of Xavier Stone, Occultist, and his planned confrontation with each creature which is a good conceit (and Xavier gets statted out in the back).

Each horror gets a brief description, an illustration (and an a-frame standee to print in the back) and a plot seed (in a “Terror-tastic Tidbit” sidebar), the actual character sheet for each creature is in a separate section at the back.

It is a good spread with the traditional horror represented by the barghest, nightmares get the Dream Reaver, otherworldly horrors (called “Those who wait Beyond the Veil” here) have the Eye of Phugg and the Ghost of Hollis Whatley, while modern urban horror is represented by the Gingerdead Man (a possessed cookie creature) and the Postman. Though the horrors are all designed for the Supers! System, it is a light system and they should be easy enough to convert over to any other superheroic or modern horror system.

The Triad (Supers!)
by Maxwell T. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 07/10/2013 13:48:53

A fun, useful, well put-together product that provides a great potentially recurring trio of bad guys for your game, some adventure seeds, and also a bonus superhero in the back. Great stuff!

The Triad (Supers!)
by Megan R. [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 12/19/2012 05:40:32

This work presents a well-developed group of rogues that will make excellent adversaries for your superheroes.

It opens with a couple of pages describing the three people who make up the Triad, their early life and the way they acquired their super-powers, and how they use them to pursue a life of crime. The whole is coherent and (providing you accept the existance of super-powers!) very believable: it's easy to imagine that this could take place.

Each of the three has a full character sheet using the Supers! ruleset, including a colour drawing of each in costume - they go for a uniform red spandex style, as depicted on the cover.

These are followed by a couple of adventure ideas - a bit more developed that mere 'seeds' although you will have to do some prep before running them. Each includes background, the main plot and other adversaries or allies involved as well as the Triad (complete with their character sheets as appropriate). There are also a couple of other adventure seeds you might like to develop for yourself, based on whatever is going on in your campaign. This would, of course, give scope to develop the Triad as an ongoing feature within your game, a nice touch.

Finally, there are paper standee miniatures for the Triad and the two main individuals from the two adventure ideas, all ready to go.

A nice resource to weave in to an ongoing Supers! campaign - or even to start one off!

Adversaries: The Triad (BASH)
by Ben N. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/26/2012 09:52:00

Disclaimer: I was one of a handful of BASH enthusiasts asked by the author to double-check the stats for the characters so this review will avoid specifically critiquing the character builds in detail.

What do you get? A super-fantastic deal for just 99 cents!

Adversaries: The Triad is a mini-villain rooster featuring the three members of the Triad, a demon, a cultist leader, cultist minions, the legendary super hero (The BADGE), and finally two well written mini-adventures (2 pages each - similar to Savage Worlds “One Sheets”)! And there is more! You get police mug shots of the Triad (great hand-outs for the players at the game table) and stand-up cut-outs of all the characters for those of you into miniatures play.

These villains, the Triad, are a group of treasure stealing professional thieves specializing in magical artifacts. Hoarfrost has ice powers; Hypersonic has speed and sonic powers; and Moonstone, the leader, is all muscle (or should I say all rock?). All three gained there powers through the use of a magical ritual which transferred the supernatural traits of various mystical artifacts into themselves. Now with their unique powers and skills in artifact research, archeology and ‘procurement’, the three sell their abilities to the worlds wealthy; helping the affluent to find and acquire other rare and powerful relics (and becoming very rich in the process).

The two adventures, The "Demon at the Museum" and "Badge of Honor", are two excellent stories with a very Silver Age feel and both are great for an evening’s play. The first involves an attempted heist by the Triad at a museum featuring some of the rare collection of the late magician Mordecai the Magnificent that backfires for the crooks (or does it?). The second adventure has the Triad attempting to steal a powerful artifact during a ceremony honoring the Badge (a great hero of legendary renown) which would serve as an excellent introductory adventure.

In summary, Adversaries: The Triad is a great one-stop shop for villains, adventure and an npc hero at a great value. The artwork is fantastic. The paper standees and wanted posters are great and useful tabletop elements.

Oh, and did I mention… That the price is unbeatable!
