Mythic is... hmm. Mythic is hard to descibe. It is an idea of how to run games that require imagination and a logical amount of cohesion, without relying on someone to "run" the game and play all the npc/monster parts. The idea is called a G.M emulator, and our group has found it has transformed our roleplaying.... everything. It has changed our style of combat, of interacting with "npc's", our expectations of reward, our goals and motives, our characters needs and wants, etc. I will say this, do not use this supplement lightly. You may not be able to return to G.M. run games after this. Our group loves the way play flows. Even if your not in the combat, your directly involved in how it proceeds -if you choose to be. If your not in the market while someone else is making purchases, you still participate as much as if you were there, if you want to. There is no downtime for anyone if they want to participate. The system does take some getting used to.(!) By our third session everyone had a good idea of how to play, and by the fourth we were in deep against a mastermind mage who had already manipulated one nobles death for reasons that are just plain evil. I love knowing there is no ref who knows the secrets and leads us along. The system itself can provide a deeper playing experience than you would otherwise get with only one persons ideas running a world, but there is a heavy price. The group must be able to agree on terms of the world, and the people at the table have to participate. Make no mistake, without a group that has the ability to open their mouths to say more than -is it my turn to swing?- this system will fail. If you try this system and can't seem to make it flow, please hang in there. It's tough making the transition to group/system terms of G.M.ing. It's worth the effort.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
