I love the style of the book and, being a fan, the flavour of anything Firefly related. I'm not, however, a big fan of the mechanics themselves. For one thing, I felt the game didn't need to base every test, trait, and achievement on quotes from the movie. My friends and I did some eye rolling as we read the level rankings. I've also just never been a fan of the Cortex system itself for various reasons not related to this specific book.
This book is a great collector's piece for any Firefly fan, however, as the design, descriptions, and the oft-mentioned Chinese phrasebook to the 'Verse are all engaging. My review boils down to it having fantastic production values but needing to back off referencing the show in every minute aspect of the mechanics, or at the very least, expanding on those references....

I heard of Dork Tower but never read it until I downloaded this book. I enjoyed the style of the comic and, being a gamer, I've heard references to a number of these panels before. I had no idea they originated with Dork Tower but, as it turns out, I'd been laughing at it long before I read it.

I downloaded this file as part of a mixed bundle with other titles. The dragons are excellent and the costumes are very detailed; my only complaints revolve around the women figures. Most of them look identical to each other and have comically enlarged lips. I like the outfits and, I think, draped on the right figures, they would be much enhanced.

The Introduction sets the scene without ado: there are many threats facing the Solar Exalted chief of whom are the other kinds of Exalted, and the purpose of this book is to enable the Storyteller to create quick yet effective representatives of all other Exalts to serve as allies or - more likely - enemies in the course of the chronicle that is to be told. More detail on both the five kinds of Exalt and on creating antagonists in general than is to be found in the core rules is presented, along with information about the high-level politicking that goes on which can be used as background or even as something for the characters to get involved with if the thought of mixing diplomacy and intrigue with warfare appeals.
Chapter 1 looks at the Dragon-Blooded. Often implacable foes, they are motivated by the belief that the Solars can only accomplish their objectives by trampling the Dragon-Blooded, underfoot. Due to their origins and links to one of the five Elemental Dragons, each Drago...

I bought this product a few hours before a new Starblazer campaign kicked off. The characters were due to limp in (faulty FTL drive) into a spaceport, where all sorts of trouble would land upon them. A bit late I realized that I could use a detailed space port, and was happy to find the Argos III. The product contains a few pdf's. The first one details the station, its different sectors, and interesting locations within. I especially liked the Transportation tubes system, and already staged a battle within them. As the characters were aboard one transportation sphere, it was hacked and stranded powerless and without gravitation, in the tubes. A bunch of goons with guns and steel crowbars came to "their rescue". The other pdf's contain detailed maps (and tactical maps for minis) which are also very useful. Finally the product also comes with great CG renderings of the station in all its glory, some eye candy for my players.
To sum: great product, saved my day....

I think this is a very good game with many strategic and tactical player choices. The core of the game is an unforgiving economic engine that repays you with catastrophes relative to how hard you work the system. If you go slow you won't get enough resources to buy VPs and use your special abilities, but you won't add your part of catastrophes either. If you go foot to the floor, you will be able to buy quite a lot, but then will have to deal with the destructive consequences. This is a nice simple model for the real world and when coupled with markets and the need to build up your technology if you want to win, the player is put into a seriously compelling bind.
I really like the game. I built the components in about an hour (though I left the glue on the markers dry overnight) and learned the rules in about the same amount of time. It did take a play though to understand how it all fit together.
Great job!!! Thanks!!!...

I got this as part of the donation for Haiti offering. Thank you not only for a great product, but thank you for practically giving that product away to help others.
Having said all that. You know you have a cool product when you can make my 14 year old son say "cool" when he sees the bullet holes in the buildings!
Thanks for a great product. I'd recommend this for 11.99, shoot I'd recommend it for 15.99.

Useful and sensible ideas for one of the game's underrated items, with some low-level magic.

I picked up the player's guide for this at GenCon a few years back. It's great to finally get the full campaign setting.
Putting the minds of Margaret Weis' production company with Ed Greenwood (Forgotten Realms) is a pretty cool combo.

I'm happy to see Fat Dragon Games bringing in an Old West offering...
So far, this company has brought us some great fantasy and sci-fi tiles and 3-D terrain.
I love the quality of the art. I make it a point to purchase several products each year from FDG.

What a great magazine!
In the wake of the loss of the printed editions of Dungeon and Dragon magazines, Kobold Quarterly has really stepped up to the plate and knocked one out of the park.
So far, I have issues 10 and 11, but I'm planning to gather up the back issues and move forward.

If you're playing a Battlestar Galactica campaign... these work quite well as Vipers... or they can work as X-Wings. for Star Wars... they're versatile.
The quality is amazing, as we've come to expect from Fat Dragon Games.
I make it a point to purchase several products from them each year because the work is just THAT GOOD.
